Robert Louis Stevenson wrote this soul stirring phrase in Treasure Island. It has been prophetic for me as I slowly work through revisions on Around the World in 72 Days -- what I hope to be my first published novel (commissioned by and in creative collaboration with Level 4 Press). It has been daunting in so many ways, but has helped me become more disciplined in my long-form writing. The experience has inspired me to reimagine other narratives. Like Treasure Island. I took third place in a flash fiction contest sponsored by the Writers Guild of Texas. If you've got 2 minutes, you can read it here.
