Our "plucky" heroine--literally the word Joseph Pulitzer repeatedly used to describe Nellie Bly--will be in need of a weapon at a certain point in her global journey. Though she doesn't know it yet. It's a good thing Pulitzer's henchmen thought the gun-knife-knucks would make a suitable parting gift.
